Tapiz de las Casitas TERMINADO / Tapestry of houses completed

Hola Gente linda,

Hi nice people,

Sé que haces meses que no escribo pero han sido por razones de fuerza mayor.... como muchas de ustedes sabrán, vivo en Viena y hace 4 años que no veía a la familia, oportunidad que se me dió en enero durante todo un mes !!

I know it has been months since I wrote here last but it has been due to majeure forces ... as many of you know I live in Wien and I did not visit my family for four years, a chance I had this January during the whole month!!!

Así que tuve que preparar muchas cosas para el viaje, coser un montón, mi bebé cumplió un año y tenía muchas cosas pendiente para hacerle a él... y terminar el famoso tapiz de las casitas para mi mamá:

Therefore I had to prepare lots of things for the trip ... sew a lot, my baby was one year and I had a lot of pending things to do for him ... and I also had to finish the famous tapestry for my mother:

 

Como verán le falta una planchadita, es que la impaciencia de mi madre por colgarlo y fotografiarlo luego de 24 hs de vuelo entre Viena y Argentina, pudo mas ;)

As you can see it needs ironing but my mother is very impatient and wanted to hang it and make a picture after it flew 24 hours from Wien to Argentina ... so she hung it as it arrived.

 

Ha sido un placer hacer este tapiz... lo cosí todo a mano y lo acolché a máquina con hilo de nylon invisible. Me ha gustado tanto hacerlo que el próximo lo haré un poco mas grande (este tiene 90*90cm) y el próximo lo haré el doble de tamaño.

It has been a great pleasure to make this tapestry ... all done by hand and it was quilted by machine with invisible thread.  I enjoyed doing it so much that I will do my next one a little bit larger (this one is 0.90 cm by 0.90 cm) so I plan to double it size next time.

Estoy retomando de a poco mi rutina luego de estas hermosas vacaciones y pronto volveré a escribir asiduamente.... espero en unos días poder subir imágenes de las nuevas cositas que estoy haciendo y algún tutorial!

 

Slowly I am returning to my routine after this beautiful holidays and soon I will start writing again.... I hope in a few days to be able to unload some photos of the new little things I am doing just now and a few tutorials.

Sábanas Bebé / Baby sheets

Como les prometí, aquí les muestro los dos juegos de sábanas que hice para la cuna de mi bebé. 

A las bajeras les puse elástico en las 4 esquinas. 

As I promised you, here I show two of the baby sheets I did for the cradle of my baby.

To the bottom sheets I put some elastic on its four corners.
 

También le hice unos gorros reciclando camisetas...

I also made him some caps with all recyled jerseys T-Shirts...
 

Ahora me voy a seguir cosiendo ...... :)

Babero especiales dentición / Special teething bibs

Hola Chicas,

Me decidí con la Overlock !!! Al final encargué la Brother 4234 pero no me llegará hasta la semana que viene, porque quise aprovechar que Brother la tendrá 100 € rebajada en diciembre... así que toca esperar unos días mas...

Mientras tanto he estado cosiendo un montón de cositas para mi bebé.... Gorros con nudos (acá en Austria se vino el fresquito), juegos de sábanas para la cuna y baberos especiales para este momento que mi bebé está dentando, con lo cual saliva muchísimo.

I made my mind and bought the Overlock !!! At the end I requested Brother 4234 but it won’t arrive until next week but I wanted to make use of a special price as the Brother will have a price reduction of Euros 100 in December ... so I have to wait some more days to have it in my hands ....

Meanwhile I have been sewing a lot of small things for my baby ... Knot Cups (here in Austria it already became cold), sets of sheets for the crib and special bibs for this moment when my baby is teething, and therefore he spits a lot.

Como los baberos normales no le duran nada secos, he decidido utilizar restos de las telas de las sábanas y otros restillos que andaban dando vuelta como frente de los baberos, y por detrás utilicé tela de toalla.

Así aunque los baberos por delante se empapan, la parte de abajo se mantiene seca y a mi bebé no se le humedece el pecho.

Me falta sacarle fotos a las sábanas y a los gorros.. lo haré prontito !!!

As the usual bibs do not keep dry very long, I decided to use some rests of different clothes I used for the sheets and other types of clothes that I have around and do not use, as the top part of the bib  and on the bottom I used towel cloth.

Then, when the bibs are very wet on the top side, on the bottom they are dry and my baby keeps with his chest dry.

I have to make photos to include here of the sheets and the cups ... I will do it very soon !!!

Ayuda con OVERLOCK !!! / Help with OVERLOCK !!!

Sé que tengo el blog un poco alicaído... y la razón: no tengo tiempo !!! Resulta que ésto de ser madre me ocupa casi todo el día jeje y cuando mi ángel duerme aprovecho para coser. Me surgió viajar a Argentina, así que debo terminar el tapiz de las casitas antes de enero, y preparar un almohadón porta-anillos, unas sábanas, unos baberos, y unas cuantas cositas más que andan dando vuelta y que en cuanto termine compartiré con vosotros.

Hoy quiero aprovechar este post para pedirles consejo. Me quiero comprar una Overlock para confeccionar prendas para mi familia y para mí y algún que otro encargo (con miras a un futuro poder hacer ropa para otros)

Aquí en Austria, en la tienda donde yo compré mi máquina de coser hace un año y medio atrás tienen muchas máquinas, y he seleccionado las que andan entre los 350-450 euros que es lo que me permite mi bolsillo. Sé que aquí en Lidl y en Mediamarkt venden unos modelos por 150 euros... pero me dá que son para cosas muy básicas.

I know that I have the blog a little crestfallen ... and the reason I have no time! Turns out that to be a “whole day” mother takes me all day (smile)  and when my angel is sleeping I make myself some time to sew.  I have the chance to visit Argentina so I have to finish my “houses” tapestry prior to travelling in January and prepare ring bearer pillow, some sheets, some bibs, and more than a few little things lying around and upon termination.  When I finish them I will share all of them with you .

Today I want to make good use of this post to ask you an advise.  I want to buy and Overlock to be able to make clothes for my family and myself and some requests (thinking on the future to make clothes for third parties).
 

Here in Austria, where I bought the sewing maching a year and a half ago they have several different machines and I have chosen those that cost about euros 350 – 450 – my budget.  I know that in Lidl and Mediamarkt they sell some for 150 euros ... but it seems they are to make very basic things.

He leído que hay que prestarle atención al ancho de puntada, a los accesorios que trae, a los pies extras que se pueden comprar, al enhebrado automático, si tienen brazo libre o no...etc, etc y realmente estoy mareada.

Por eso recurro a Ustedes, para saber si han probado o tienen alguno de los modelos de aquí arriba, y que tal les va. Si hay alguno que ande en esta gama de precio y no aparezca pero les restultó bueno, también me encantaría que me lo mencionaran.

Desde ya les agradezco muchísimo !!! Realmente me urge toda la información que puedan darme.

I read that one must be alert on the wide of the stitch, to the accessories that are included in the machine, to  the extra feet that one can buy later on, to the automatic threading, if they have a free arm, etc.


Therefore I request your advise, to know if you have tried or have any of these models (shown above) and how good they are.  If there is another one with about the same price that I have not included hereby, I would love you to mention it.

I am very grateful for your advise !!!  Really I need to know very urgently about them.

Manta de Bebé Espacial / Space baby blanket

Revisando algunas cosas del blog me he dado cuenta que nunca publiqué la Manta que le hice a Agu para su cuna con motivos relacionados con el espacio y la astronomía...

Searching some at the blog I found I never published the Space Baby Blanket I made for Agu for his cradle with decorations dedicated with the space and astronomy ...

So I publish it here because it is a job I feel very proud of because I never did before such a work with so many sconces (appliques).

I hope you enjoy it =)

Avanzando con las casitas III / Progress with the Houses III

Lento pero seguro.... así voy avanzando con el TopHill Houses. Acabo de coser la 4ta tira de las 14 que son, y estoy muy contenta de como va quedando.... el trabajo vale la pena sin duda aunque tiene sus momentos !!!

Slowly but sure ... so I keep advancing with TopHill Houses. I just seemed the fourth row of the total 14 and I feel very happy of the result ... the hard work is worth, no doubt, even though it has its though moments !!!

Al costado de las tiras cosidas está la guía que me hice con lápices para ver como organizaba los colores, y arriba, los 150 cuadraditos de entretela ya cortados, listos para empezar a coserlos uno a uno...

At the side of the houses seemed it is the guide I made with a pencil to see how I was going to organize the colours and on top, the 150 small squares of the interlining already cut, ready to start sewing them one by one ....
